I'm looking to possibly move to the area and was wondering where is the best place to raise a family and are there any places for rent preferably a small 2 bedroom house

If you have a price range it may help to narrow down what neighborhoods in Oak ridge that would be good to raise a family.

5 mins from oak ridge in Oliver springs. Haven rd. 2 br 1 1/2 bath. Nice house $650 month on a dead end street. My kids ride bikes on the dead end. Great place to raise kids. It's down the street from me. Nice neighborhood...

We have lived many places & states, just coming back from Fl a couple yrs ago, I love Oak Ridge, Does it have its problems, yes, but doesn't all cities in any state now, Ck it out first if that will help. Clinton is also a nice older community, U would love both.,
Shirley F. replied:
Clinton, Tn was the older city that went thru the segregation back yrs ago, my hubby went to Clinton Hi & it was blown up, but that was 1962 or so, It is not, Clinton is toward Ky, not far from Oak Ridge, maybe 5 miles, have a mother in law there, relatives, friends, they all love it,
Shirley F. replied:
Yes, I see, there are some great churches in Oak ridge & Clinton, I would look at those first, Times have changed, I hope, Oliver springs is nice also, just a small area, but the house that was mentioned about around there sounds nice for that price,
Anyone know of places for rent. Preferably 1BR but at a decent price. (Pet friendly) Been looking the manhattans but I heard you have to have a deposit down plus lasts months rent and that months rent. Just need some options
Jennifer G. replied:
Yes, they have a site rentoakridge.com . also, everyone may talk crap about applewood, but if you need a place to live, and are careful, its not the worst place in the world.
