Kids@ Churchill Park is a non-profit Calgary child care and family support agency providing quality child care and early learning opportunities to Calgary families. We have been both pioneers and leaders in this field for over forty years.
Calgary! Moving! Give me your best neighbourhood and daycare recommendations! I am moving back to Calgary (grew up here) after living in Edmonton for the last 10 years. I’ve got a young family (kids aged 18 months and 2.5 years). My wife and I will both be working downtown (her sometimes near Chinook). For this reason we are looking into neighbourhoods near the LRT. Don’t want to live too far south or north, so we are thinking the following areas.
- Riverbend
- Ogden
- Lynnwood
- Fairview
- Acadia
- Kingsland
- Haysboro
- Southwood
- Willow Park
Any recommendations for or against?
We are also looking for an awesome daycare ideally near our home. We currently have our kids in a non-profit Reggio philosophy/inspired daycare and are hoping for something similar. Any recommendations there would be much appreciated!
I’m coming home!

For daycare I'd recommend any of the Churchhill Park daycares. http://www.churchillpark.ca/ , they are a not for profit and really focus on great staff and creating a great environment. Child Enrichment Center is also fantastic. For communities, it really depends on what your looking for. Do you want short commute to downtown or work, are you looking to be west side of town to hit the mountains quickly or are you looking for the biggest house for your buck. For that I'd recommend rent for 6 months and get to know the city then choose.
