IN NEED OF COMMUNITY HELP:
georgetown school is once again starting their garden. it needs some community love! there are quite a few projects that could use the help of our community. the following are all project that could use donations of time and materials:
1. the rotating compost bin needs repair. it is rusted out in a spot which stops it from being able to turn. if there's a welder out there who could give us advice that would be great! (i have pictures if anyone needs them)
2. the wood for the raised beds is rotting out in a lot of places. in addition to replacing the actual wood we would need them to be rebuild/ repaired.
3. in increase awareness we would like to erect a sign. any donations of suitable paint or wood for paiting on.
4. any suitable dirt or compost donations. we do have soil dontaions but any such donations could expand our gardening capacity.
5. knowledge and time! if anyone is particularly knowledgable in specific areas such as biointensive methods, worm casting, compost tea, coplanting, etc. we'd love you to share it and suggest any improvements for the school garden. time is also much appreciated! with some time and love we can create a wonderful community project and resource! please note that if you do choose to donate time, georgetown school does require you to register and sighn in. please repsect the school do this before showing up in the garden.
