Our General Contractor, Gene Elson, hired Chuck McIntyre to perform electrical work, install light fixtures, add to our electrical panel, etc. during an entire home remodel.
Interestingly, he used an untrained assistant and our home as a training ground. Most of the work seemed done well, except some new outlets/covers were loose. Several outlets didn't work and we had to have our General Contractor call him back out.
We called him recently (about 1 year after our remodel) as we are having a breaker trip frequently on one of the circuits whenever we use the master bathroom lights. As he did the original work, we figured we'd give him the business. No complaints, no grief, just called him up and asked him to come out. Said he would be at our home the next day. Never showed up. Didn't return calls or texts. This speaks volumes about his character so I won't say more about that.
Had another electrician out to troubleshoot our issue and he advised there were some issues, loose wires, an unconnected ground and a safety panel missing from a new breaker box Chuck installed. Additionally, there is a 10 year guarantee in CA for electrical work (particularly in a major remodel) which both Chuck and our General Contractor know about. Both have refused to respond to even inspect our home to learn what the issue may be so seems likely we'll end up in litigation over this silly matter.
I wouldn't recommend hiring this electrician's services for anything.
I need an electrician. Lost power in half of my house last night and it's not the breakers. Am I missing something? My husband would have normally handled this but I'm recently widowed and not sure if there is something else I should check?
