About us
Eklectic Designs is just that...Eclectic. We make custom, personalized items that make great gifts, or just something special for yourself. We can personalize almost anything. The possibilities are only limited by our imaginations. We also make custom t-shirts. Great for family reunions, church groups, ball teams, or birthdays. Eklectic will give you unique items that are sure to brighten any home!
I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be a business owner! The every day hustle of a 9-5 has been the norm for me since I was 15, (well, I didn't work 9-5 then, but I worked as many hours as allowed, you get the picture, right! :) ) In January of 2013, that all changed. I was blessed with my first child! My husband was very vocal in the fact that he did not want me to go back to work and put our son in daycare. It was a tough decision, as running a household on one income is not exactly easy, but we made it work, and I got to spend every minute of every day with our new bundle of joy!
In September of the following year, things changed for our little family again. We had a business opportunity practically just fall in our lap. A good friend of ours was looking to sell his company and enter retirement. So, there it began, we were business owners. With this new journey came one certain piece of equipment(a heat press) that sparked my creative side. I decided 2 months into our new business adventure, that I was going to start my own business, doing something I never thought would be a reliable source of income, just a hobby, something for fun, a creative outlet. Something to add a little extra padding to that ever so scary budget, that now included a new warehouse, extra utility bills, insurances, and all kinds of unexpected expenses. We had the space in our new warehouse for a separate office, so there Eklectic Designs was born!! I knew I didn't want to be limited to just one category of handmade items, so I brainstormed on some unique names and that's where Eklectic... show more came from. That was me...I wanted to have a very eclectic range of items to offer to many different audiences! I started off small, putting vinyl on everything in site, coffee cups, wine glasses, windows, you name it. I gradually got more confident and started doing t-shirts, then came book bags, hats, and plenty of other creations. I tapped into a crafty side, I never really knew I had. I drew inspiration from others in my life and family members to come up with new items, and put my own twist on others.
Eklectic Designs has grown so much since then, because of all the long hard hours that were put in to grow the business and because of wonderful customers that always seem to "come back for more" and are so sweet to refer people my way.
I am very thankful that, although I work long hours (definitely no 9-5) and still have all the worries of being a business owner, that I get to do something for a living that I enjoy, all the while getting to "stay home" with the little one, that's not so little anymore. On top of that I have met so many amazing people, and gained so many friendships along the way!!
