Since Manley's went out of business, I don't know where to take my car for repairs that is reliable and doesn't overcharge. Essentially, looking for another "Manley's" that does quality work at reasonable prices. Anyone have suggestions?
My car needs a new alternator, brake rotors, tires, and possibly some minor things (air in the lines). Who do you all recommend that is trustworthy but also affordable?

Newton Automotive. 5206 Greenwood Rd, Louisville, KY 40258 (502) 996-7171 Honest folks doing good affordable work. I'm a single mother with an older car - I trust Mike Newton with my car 100%
Does anyone know of a good mechanic in this area. I need someone I can trust. I am widowed senior citizen and I have been messed over quite a lot. My husband could usually take care of our cars but since he's been dead it's hard to find someone I can trust.

Call Shultz auto on lower hunters near the green belt. Talk to Ed. 995-5003. Tell him your situation, and Eric Bullock said to call. He will take care of you.
Can someone tell me of a reputable auto repair shop that works on transmissions? I have a 1997 Toyota 4Runner and the transmission has been slipping. I have had my fluid checked and it was okay (at least that's what they said) am hoping it will not need a new one because I am on a fixed income and since my husband has been dead I am afraid of being taken advantage of. Appreciate any advice.
