  As a follow up to a post a few months earlier - I will be leaving for vacation to St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Switzerland on August 1st. I have most of the planning done but have left time open for things I have not found to do.   hi Ronnie, sounds like quite a trip. Happy days to you! In Switzerland you should avoid the Tourist "Traps" if you can and go to different places. It is easy to go by train to almost everywhere. Lucerne and Interlaken are NOT the most beautiful places, but very expensiv. If you like the mountains, go to Berne, then by train, to Thun, by boat to Beatenbucht, by cable car to Beatenberg and the Niederhorn. http://www.niederhorn.ch/en/, you'll enjoy it. Berne is worth a stay. It is a great old city, easy to walk. And yes, it is not cheap in Switzerland. But if you stay in Airbnb or other private rooms or vacation appartements, it is affordable
