If you happen to fly into Nanaimo area, and have a few hours to spare, the Dingy Dock Pub is a fun little adventure. You take a little ferry over to a little island, can have a little lunch, watch the seaplanes land, and walk the island if you please. Super fun way to spend a few hours. It's pub fare, it isn't fancy, but it is something fun to do. http://dinghydockpub.com/
We are five adults heading to Vancouver and Vancouver Island during the first week of August. Any activity/sightseeing/hotel recommendations would be appreciated!

IThe atmosphere and fof you go to Tofino, you will see the Goats on the hill at Coombs, Long Beach and go through the rain forest. Parksville is just north of the turnoff to Tofino but well worth visiting. To see these you should take the ferry to Nanaimo. While there, do not leave without going to the Dinghy Dock Pub. It is the only floating pub and restaurant in Canada with fantastic views. The food and atmosphere was fantastic. If you like artsy, do Gabriola Island. http://dinghydockpub.com/
