He doesn't eat meat, doesn't eat dairy due to an allergy, highly allergic to some nuts, and is highly allergic to cats and dogs. I do not qualify for state assistance, so I'm wondering, does anyone know of any childcare centers who have a sliding scale fee and will be mindful enough to check labels or allow me to pack his food?   Ailyne, My daughter went to a daycare on the South Hill, we explained our veganism and they had no problem with us packing her lunch and snacks. In fact the director asked me for some recipes so she can bake vegan treats for all the kiddos! I work at the daycare now and for the past four years. Not sure about the sliding scale tuition as I'm one of the teachers and don't deal with the finances, but I can ask and see what my director says. Or if you prefer to give the daycare a call...It's Rainbows End on 29 th right off of Perry. My directors name is Carolyn and the phone number is 509-458-2500. Hope this helps.
