  Apparently Barton stud is very good http://www.bartonstud.co.uk I have only chatted to the grooms there who seem really lovely but they say they really love vet students and they get to them to be really hands on

  I went to Barton Stud it's amazing, absolutely loved it! Train to the nearest station is about 2 hrs, I live close so travelled from home but the accommodation was fine had everything you needed and onsite x

  Hello! This is a question probably geared more toward upper years... I am looking for a equine AHEMS placement. I have a BS in Equine Science and Mgt. I have foaling/broodmare/stallion/yearling/sales experience. I am looking to go somewhere I will learn new things... Are there any Stud farms people did placements at that they enjoyed or can recommend? Anywhere to do Foaling? Any information would be hugely appreciated!!!

  Barton Stud is very good, and very good at getting you involved. Phil Haworth (the stud manager) is very keen for vet students to come and help. They have a daily visit from the NEH vets, and because its one of the senior partners who goes out, he doesnt take students so you get to assist. You also get to go out and about to take the mares to be covered all over Newmarket, so its really good for getting a feel of the whole environment! I was on foal watch every night, and then worked during the day, so it was a shattering experience, but so much fun! http://www.bartonstud.co.uk/
