  Calling any zu folk that might have any helpful info re AUTO GEARBOX repair pleeeeese!! My VW transporter's gear box has packed up. Its in a repair centre in Hove at the mo .Readings showing slipping badly in 2nd.. hardly any drive.. oil is black and burned....eeeek! Has got to come out. I've had four quotes for worse case scenario ie take it out repair/rebuild n put back in..cheapest is £3000. Have found a recommended place in Birmingham that will do it for £1800..but there's no way I can do that at the mo. Does anyone know any other options please.. or do you think that's as good as I'll get?? Any tips much appreciated..thks..oh its a 2005 2.5TDI 130 with tiptronic 6 speed box
