I just moved back down to Ventura after living in SF for the last 3 years and I'm wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for places to dance in Ventura or Los Angeles Counties? I know of Rob and Diane here in the City of Ventura, but anyone else have any suggestions of venues or teachers to track down?

  Hi I am coming over to LA from the 8th to 14th April and was wondering if anyone could tell me of any swing dance lessons/socials happening in the area. I will be staying pretty centrally (South Grand Av ) as primarily there for a conference but would love to come and have a dance somewhere while I am there. I don't know my way around LA at all so would appreciate it if anyone could also give advise on how to get to any venues suggested (although I am sure I will find my way there somehow).   Hi Ali, you have a ton of options. Check the calendar at http://lalindyhop.com a complete list of events. Based on your location, I would recommend Joe's Bar, Rusty's Rhythm Club, Lindy Groove, PBDA, and the Cicada Club if you have time. Some of these venues have lessons. Check the links on my page. LA transportation is not ideal.. you might have to take a cab. Although, there is light rail from downtown to Pasadena (Lindy Groove, PBDA). That's something to look into. Happy Dancing! - Brian

Whilst we are only just beginners in lindy dancing, it would be great if we can attend any events or classes whilst we are visiting. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. Also we would love to find any shops or sellers of vintage clothing in the LA area. If anyone can direct us or suggest good places to go that would be fantastic.
