  During Pennsic, the zipper on my Mountain Horse boots broke. I took them to a local shoe repair guy who said $80. I thought perhaps new boots were in order, then looked at the prices on the Mountain Horse website. I like these boots, so fixing them is the current option. I hate putting zippers in clothes and will throw away jeans with a zipper problem, but $80 is a lot. Please either tell me that fixing them myself is not that bad, or that I should really hand over the $80, or that you know someone who does them for less. Thanks!

  Since I forgot to take my boots both times I headed north , I took them to Northway Shoe Repair, 8000 McKnight Road, Pgh, Pa 15237. 412-367-7977. To get both boots done was $80 and they are cleaner than I could ever have gotten them :) I dropped them off on Saturday and picked them up the following Thursday.
