Does anyone know of a GOOD tattoo shop that doesn't have a $50 minimum

I agree with with Lindsay. This is permanent on your body, and people charge according to their skill levels normally. I don't understand why someone would shop for a "cheap" artist instead of the best artist. If you want some good artists try www.greatlakestattoo.com or www.deluxetattoo.com. Both of these places average cost is about 200 an hour, but you get what you pay for. At 50 dollars for a tattoo, it's about 20 in supplies, so 30 is left over. Then the shop owner normally takes between 40-60 percent of that cost. So if the artist charges you 50, they pocket 10-15 dollars. I would be very wary of that tattoo and it's quality.
Recommendations for tattoo shop/artist (preferably female) in Chicago? (x-post from r/chicago) I'm thinking of getting a new tattoo and have never been inked in the city before. All of my other tattoos are from my college years, when I went to a small shop near WIU. I am female and I'm considering getting the tattoo in a rather "sensitive" area, so I would prefer to have a female artist. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Tattooed Chicago! Can I get some opinions, please? So I want to get a tattoo. It'll be the first one I'm getting in Chicago, but I have had work done in many other places.
Just want to get some recommendations and possibly see some pictures of work from these recommended places (pictures that they don't already have on their website.) If there are any places I definitely should not go please do share!
Thank you in advance!

I'd say [Insight](http://insightstudiosonline.com/) or [Deluxe](http://www.deluxetattoo.com/) Edit: It appears the two artists I really liked from deluxe left and started a new shop. I'd say check this out too. [Pioneer Tattoo](http://www.pioneertattoo.com/gallery.html/)

Deluxe Tattoo is fantastic. I've got work done by Jason Vaughn (both sleeves), Chris Smith (back of calf), and Kit Hall (upper back/neck). All of them are great and I'd get work done by anyone at the shop.
