The only C.S.I.A. certified chimney sweep and dryer exhaust technician in Kitsap County. That impressed me also. They said, just an inspection will be $99 + tax, if the chimney needs to be cleaned, then an extra $60 for the cleaning so they can inspect it. I will let you all know how it goes. :)

I subscribed to Angies List as well and just as Jodi said there are few to no options being in Armstrong or even Butler County. One of the vendors suggested to try CSIA.org website. Most of these individuals are certified in all aspects of what you are looking for. I found Tom Smail in Slate Lick. He is certified in all aspects and can check the gas lines and inspect if you need repairs on it.

People need to learn more about their chimneys and safe burning practices. Best advice I can give someone, hire a certified chimney sweep. www.csia.org . There are a lot of untrustworthy people that call themselves sweeps. Find a pro and save yourself from getting screwed.

We always appreciate it. However, I just want to clarify (after checking our records for you) that our pricing had been the same for you the last 3 visits. It's funny, we have other customers who also say the same thing that our prices keep going up, when in reality we have been charging the same price to sweep chimneys for about 10 years. In regards to the original post, the other companies mentioned are also certified sweeps and good guys. You can always check out csia.org to find certified sweeps, although word of mouth is always good to verify customer satisfaction.

Some companies may SEEM good, but if you are not educating yourself as a homeowner BEFORE choosing a contractor, you can easily be fooled. PLEASE do your due diligence people. CSIA.org is a great resource as well as the National Chimney Sweep Guild. And yes I am a chimney contractor and yes I would love to help you with any issues your home may have, but it's more important to me to get you INFORMED & EDUCATED as to what may or may not be going on in your home.
