About us
Founded in November of 2012, RENO HILL is a four piece Classic Rock & Roll Band. The members of the band are; John Stephan (Lead Vocalist and Rhythm Guitarist), Steve Warner (Drummer, Vocals, and Sound Engineer), Rob Warner (Bass Guitarist and Vocals) and Lee Colley (Lead Guitarist and Slide Guitar). RENO HILL is named after the geographical location of the same name in the center of the Band's hometown of Colonial Beach, VA. Reno Hill was a gathering place on a small hill with weeping willow trees in front of the old Colonial Beach Hotel and nearby waterfront entertainment establishment called Reno's. Because of it's central location and close proximity to the waterfront and boardwalk along the Potomac River, Reno Hill was *the* place for all sorts of events over the years such as Motorcycle Rallies, Custom Van Shows, Hot Rod and Muscle Car Shows, and served as a staging area for Rod Runs, Parades, Beauty Pagents, and more. A place of wonderful memories from days gone by. Reno's and the Colonial Beach Hotel are gone now and the property that was fondly known as Reno Hill is now owned by the town who renamed it "Town Hill" and built a good sized covered stage for events which are still held at this location. RENO HILL, the band, pays homage to and honors the place where so many fond memories were and still are made. Long-time residents of Colonial Beach still refer to Town Hill as Reno Hill to the delight of members, friends, and fans of the band! RENO HILL performs Classic Rock & Roll infused with healthy doses of Southern Rock, Blues Inspired Rock, and Rockin' Country music too! RENO HILL has performed annually for events at the American Legion, the Chamber of Commerce, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, The Heathsville Fall Festival, a number Charity Events, Private Parties and more! experience. John is an award winning singer / songwriter having won back to back talent show competitions in the 1990's. John is also the band's I.T. guy. Steve Warner is an experienced Drummer with over 35 years of performance experience and an expert Sound Engineer. Rob Warner is a talented Bass Player with over 22 years of experience and is also a proverbial "Joker" and keeps the guys laughing! And Lee Colley, is an extraordinary multi-talented lead and slide guitarist with more than 35 years of performance experience. RENO HILL represents an amazing pool of raw talent and skill and an absolute ton of practical working experience! Additionally, all the members of the band have deep ties to Colonial Beach with deep family roots in the area. Several members of RENO HILL have worked and served for the Town and for the local School System. RENO HILL has achieved notoriety in the local media with numerous articles and mentions in the Journal and Westmoreland News. Events the band have headlined have been featured on local area radio stations and the band's The bands motto: "Keep rocking good people! Keep rocking!" says it all... It was an absolutely awesome show. There were so many people dancing, singing along, applause, cheering... Really picked up on the positive energy coming from the audience. Our impromptu photographer / videographer my darling wife Margaret did a very good job and got some great shots of the band on stage and some videos that will come in handy for future promo materials.
