  Anyone know the codes for direct venting a pellet stove just out the wall or do you still need to go above the roof line like a wood stove. Was told two different rules just looking for the correct one.

  We just put in a pellet stove. The company we used put a 4 in pipe up the chimmney in the pre-existing fireplace. The first company we spoke and got a quote from recommended we go through the wall. Due to size of fireplace ect. However we did not go that route due to the people we choose (Dublin City Chimney Sweep) being able to put the pellet stove insert into the pre-existing fireplace. Either way Z contacted the town inspector to find out what the regulations are. If you call Dublin City Chimney Sweeps 860-464-8409 even though they are in CT they may be able to help you even though you are in RI. They were fantastic to deal with and knew what they were doing.
