Looking for suggestions -- I had my AN removed on Sept. 24th of this year via middle fossa approach with top surgeons in the L.A. area. The small tumor was successfully removed, but I've had a landslide of problems as a result of the surgery -- leaving me handicapped in a multitude of ways. Three months of this has worn my positive attitude down and I'm looking for therapy help, but have been unsuccessful. If anyone has used a PTSD therapist in the Pasadena or Los Angeles area, please throw in your suggestions. If you have any other recovery suggestions, here's what I'm still coping with three months out and after countless visits to vestibular and facial rehab, inner ear specialists, neurologists, neurological psychologist, audiologists, ophthalmologist, acupuncturists, and cranial sacral therapists: I have 24-7 severe vertigo, critical cognitive loss, double vision, and went from 100% word recognition pre-op to 0 post-op, but I still have unusable distorted hearing that further complicates the hearing I have left in my good ear. I have internal head pain and metallic reverb on everything I hear or say. I had facial paralysis that has significantly recovered, but the musculature in my face and neck is still painfully tense and tight, despite therapy twice a week to loosen it.I also have body spasms and an eye twitch on my affected side. I can't drive. I can't work. I can't take care of myself, let alone my kids and family. I am dependent upon a live-in caregiver. To be clear -- though I sound like a hypochondriac with all of these problems, I'm actually one tough cookie with a very high threshold for stress and pain -- that makes being broken by something like this particularly challenging. I just want my life back. Open to suggestions ...
