  I'll say Heartland Kids for sure (and not only because it is run by family). I know the hard work that has been put in by the Director and the love for the kids that is shown. They aren't just floating the hours until you get your child, they actually teach them and I've visited and seen how happy the kids are (briefly and with an escort even though I'm family and was just changing my daughter's diaper) as well as the safety and structured environment. Due to the fact that I also know those who run it outside of work I know that they aren't doing it just for money either, they are constantly working to engage in more training for themselves and their employees. If you are looking for in-home care I can also vouch for Kathy Markham in West Frankfort (618-923-1893). It is nothing fancy but she treats every child like family and has been working with kids for years and years. Honestly, those are the only 2 places I'd trust my daughters.
