  Hi all - my husband and I adopted a wonderful 1.5 yr old dog (Phoenix) 5 months ago. She was rescued after the tornado in Moore Oklahoma last summer, and was brought up to Chicago for adoption several months later. During the storm she suffered an injury to her left eye and it was removed. She is extremely sweet and gentle and virtually never ever barks at anything. Phoenix is extremely submissive and affectionate with my husband and me. We've noticed though that she's very shy of other men. Women she is usually fine with, and she adores babies and children. Men she avoids. For example, she has met my brother many times, and even though she's let him pet her and feed her, every time she sees him is like the first time. So two questions: 1) any recs for dogs that are shy of men, and 2) any recs for great dog trainers in the Chicagoland area? Thanks!
