Frugal Tips for Men's Wedding Ring? Looking for a wedding band for my fiance, but every thing I have seen at a jewelery shop is crazy expensive and a very poor selection. I've found rings online (mostly Etsy), that are easily a third of the price for what looks to be a better ring.
What am I missing here? Is there that big of a benefit to buying from a jeweler? What risks do I have buying a ring online (besides the obvious problem of not being able to see it until it's too late)

What kind of ring does your fiance want? Does he want a precious metal ring, like gold or does he want an industrial metal like tungsten carbide or titanium? Jewelers sometimes offer warranties, but for a band you might not need something like that. Some online places do have warranties and return policies. The problem with industrial metals is that they are not resizable, like gold. My male partner has had a titanium ring for 10 years and it has a few light scratches but nothing very noticeable. We got it from Titanium Kay online. My platinum ring came from eweddingbands.com and it's held up good over the past 3 years. We had good experiences with both and the prices were decent.
I am looking for someone or some place who can custom make a piece of jewelry... Any suggestions?

Eweddingbands.com. They're based out of Provo. They do a lot of standard, run-of-the-mill stuff, but they're really good to work with if you want to do a custom job.
