Thinking of buying a 2002 locally, it has 140k on the clock for $5.3K. Everything in excellent working order per seller... Any reason I should steer clear or does this sound like a good deal? How many miles can you realistically expect to get out of a wing motor? I have never owned a goldwing so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check the frame welds. Early Goldwing had a recall on them. I think 01-05. Checkout gl1800 riders.com lots of info on there for you.
I need to replace my front factory speakers..Looking for any helpful reviews on decent speakers...stock radio no amp..2005 1800 Thanks

Polk db501....you need to nip the 4 mounting holes and use approx. 1/2 washers to mount them as these speakers are just a bit smaller, but much better, speakers than the OEM. Also they are marine grade so any moisture, heavy rain or water hose, will not effect them. Many posts have been made about them on gl1800 riders.com These speakers are much better than the J&M or the Showchrome replacements.

If you've got bass in your stock speakers you better hold on to them as they might actually be worth something to someone. If you are used to riding around in a tuner car with the roof flexing from the bass again you will be disappointed. Honda put a horrible sound system in these 1800's and short of installing an amp you will be limited to the bass and treble adjustments as you get them on the stock audio unit. I wasn't expecting tuner car bass and would adjust it all to normal sound if it was. The sound from these Polks is about as good as it will get without the amp installed. Lots of info again on this at gl1800 riders.com...including detailed info on installing an amp
