  Home Inspections Girlfriend and I are buying a house in town here. We're putting an offer in on a nice older house in the next couple days. Anyone have experience with good home inspectors? Do you trust them, or should I be trusting them as much as a used car salesman? I'm unsure of using the one my realtor suggests(thanks Mike Holmes). Its an older house, but it seems like it has been well taken care of. Maybe I should skip it all together? Or get a contractor that specializes in older homes come through? Recommendations or anyone I should stay away from?

  We used Keith from building insights and were happy with his service. http://www.building-insights.com/ Our house is over 50 years old and he gave a detailed report in a binder full of his findings and general home maintenance stuff. Home inspections are very important IMO. Congrats on your home purchase.
