Any advice on a good gym preferably with/without swimming pool in the area of Mercaz HaCarmel?

There are 3: One at the Dan Panorama hotel: http://www.lifeandfitness.co.il/?p=1, Maccabi: http://maccabipool.co.il/, and at Elisha: http://www.medic-sport.co.il/main.shtml. The third on the list attracts more of a geriatric crowd since it is located below an assisted living/ senior citizen building.
Anyone taken Zumba classes in Haifa? Any recommendations?

Sage, it's not related to the kupat holim, it's on Habikurim St in the mercaz carmel (just down the hill from Arcaffe), they do have a gym as well, but I found it kinda "icky" - the price is pretty much the same... http://maccabipool.co.il/ Message me if you want to know more :)

The pool is only open from May through November - but I DO use it to swim laps. I got fed up with the Maccabi Pool being so crowded (because they didn't regulate the speed/slow lanes, it was always super difficult to manage a proper work out/feel comfortable, and I complained a number of times to no avail), so I switched to Life & Fitness, and it's quite luxurious ;) The gym is great, and I can live without the pool for these few months. Membership varies from 6 months to a year (yearly includes the pool) from 250-199/mo (yearly breaks down to 199/mo)...

One more question, please. There is a Maccabi pool? The kupat holim? Where? Do they have a gym as well? Can someone tell me about this? Okay, that was more than one question but since it all fit in this one comment box, I figure it is fair.

Lindsay, I know there is a masters swim team at Maccabi pool, I considered joining, but it's quite expensive and the times didn't fit my schedule :( I haven't heard of a "women's only" time at the pools, though with my experience, it wouldn't make much of a difference... Ha! Technion isn't convenient for me to get to, so it was never high on my list (also bc of the cost) but let me know how it is if you try it!!!
