  Hi this is my second attempt at getting this info from this page. I'm a Marine Corps veteran, I did two tours of duty to Iraq. I'm interested in becoming a dog trainer. I am currently a massage therapist and i focus on helping people with PTSD, depression and anxiety. I'd like to be able to offer canine therapy to my clients. However I've never professionally trained a dog, nor do I feel confident in bringing animals around my clients that are not properly trained. If anyone could recommend a school or course where I can get hands on training, I would greatly appreciate it and so would my clients. Respectfully, Bryan USMC Veteran 04-09

  Some advice needed: I rescued a Westie at age 5 (now 8) who is a doll. Never needed any training--I was very blessed as he was my first dog and I had zero experience. I rescued another dog (a Schnauzer) in December. I truly am blessed twice over as he too is a good boy most of the time. Both were house trained and not chewers. Simon the schnauzer needs additinonal training (coming when I call, sit, stay, etc) and I need a recommendation for a trainer near the Stony Brook/Centereach area. Sadly money is a concern right now. Simon (the schnauzer) was found on the streets and used to scrounging for food. He has been driving me crazy eating and chewing on acorns. My vet said they can be mildly toxic. I spent a small fortune cleaning up the backyard including the acorns. My landscaper put down some mulch in one area in the backyard (I didnt ask him to, it was left over from the front) and now Simon is eating the mulch. Any advice?
