Looking to buy house in/near Baltimore Hi everyone,
I am a single female in my late 20s looking to potentially buy a house in or near Baltimore this summer/fall, and would like some neighborhood recommendations for where I should focus my search. I would like to spend 200K or less, but would be willing to go up to 225K if I really loved the place. Anymore and I would need to get a roommate. I am interested in a small townhouse or a single family home with a yard in a reasonably safe area with not awful parking. I have a dog, so I would really like to be within walking distance of a park or at least live in an area that is very walkable with a dog. I don’t care much for nightlife, but I want to be within walking distance or short driving distance of some good restaurants. I also need to be within 30 minutes driving time of Downton Baltimore near MLK for work. Any insights you all have would be appreciated.

Livebaltimore.com is a great resource for people looking to move to the city.
First time home buyer. Advice, realtor recommendations ? City vs county? Hello! Ready to buy a home/condo in the city... I think. It seems kind of overwhelming but it's about time. Any advice for a first timer? Any realtors you recommend (or advise against)? I'd prefer something in Mount Vernon but I'm open to Towson and that area. What has been your experience with being a homeowner in the city vs county? I work in Pigtown and downtown Baltimore.

Check incentives at livebaltimore.com I got $16 k for free to put towards my down payment/closing costs. It also paid my mortgage down a bit as well.
Does anyone here have a child attending Gardenville Elementary? My son starts kindergarten in the fall and that's our zoned school. I'm looking for first-hand reviews.

Just want to applaud you for asking for recommendations and not trusting rating sites. Rating sites kill city schools for a list of reasons I won't go into. Also visit http://www.livebaltimore.com and look under the City Living Essentials tab for lots of city school info and resources.
