  Veterinary recommendations, surgery on Luxating Patella for my chihuahua Hello! My almost 12 year old chihuahua was diagnosed with a grade 4 luxating patella. Curious if anyone has any experience with local vets and costs associated with this kind of surgery? We were quoted $450 for an X-ray and $1800-$2000 for surgery and pain medication from Banfield. This is for one hind leg on a chihuahua. A mobile surgeon would perform the operation at a local Banfield. Is this standard pricing for Denver? Any recommendations for anywhere else? Would appreciate any information, I want to get this taken care of by the end of the month, I hate to see my dog like this. I would also appreciate any advice/tips on post surgical care if you’ve been through something similar with your pet!

  I can’t speak highly enough of Colorado Canine Orthopedics in Colorado Springs. https://www.canineortho.com We’ve used them for TPLO surgery not luxating patella.

  https://www.canineortho.com is a great practice, they fixed my parents dogs hip after he was hit by a car. It's one of the few orthopedic veteranarian practices in the country.
