About us
ATx(Austin, Tx) Drones-Space will be a place for people of all ages and experience levels to experience, learn about, and be a part of affecting the climate of the current explosion in Drone technology in both consumer and commercial fields.
ATx is an acronym that here in Austin we are proud of It’s been used in branding many local business’ and shows an interest in being part of the community in a positive light. In the current and ever changing climate revolving around Drones it’s important that we begin to find ways to positively affect the community and end users while looking forward and developing hardware, software, commercial usage guidelines and standards, and of course safety guidelines for the future.
Close your eyes, Imagine a Space that is open, clean, and feels "tech" oriented.
A few workbenches are off to one side, stocked with basic tools and equipment, on the opposite wall is a small bank of PC's and other electronic and digital interfaces.
Off to the side of that is the "Pilots Lounge" with a few couches, a small refrigerator of refreshments, and a few "ACES" chatting about heading out to fly at Zilker Park.
A new “pilot” comes in saying he had a small mishap leading to a 5ft drop of his new Phantom P3 Professional Drone. He is upset and wants to know how much this will cost him, clearly worried about the cost. The Coop Members hanging out in the Lounge gather around and start discussing what they see and asking how the accident happened. Within a few minutes the cause is discovered, pilot error, and the new “pilot” is given tips and info on how to avoid this in the future. Next, for a nominal fee a member or Coop employee will ASSIST in repairs while educating the “”pilot” on the system and how it operates. The “pilot” then decides to become a member of this awesome cooperative business and we continue to Fly together in this Journey!!!
The Drone era has begun, in my opinion it is a revolution and time of development... show more that is similar and possibly as important as the PC wars of the 1980-90’s.As the technology and uses for it continue to grow, we need to start finding how we can affect the industry, help it transition into mainstream culture, and find new ways to utilize them in positive and safe ways.
Safety is where we will begin with EVERY transaction, brainstorming session, piece of hardware or software developed, and everything in between.The future of commercial and consumer drones are inevitably linked.Though many may not see the big picture, technology and innovation go hand in hand.Future breakthroughs in technology and innovative uses for it are not always fueled by commercial business or developed by companies already in the industry. The goal is to capture the current market and build upon it with our own ideas and forward thinking.
ATx Drone-Space is an idea that I conceived using a few different concepts that many haven’t thought to meld together. In Austin, and many cities Coop (cooperative) businesses have been successful and even a way of life.These businesses are able to utilize the abilities, resources, and ideas of a collective to serve an end goal and like-minded purpose.
This type of cooperative business promotes growth by self-education, new ideas fostered by collective brainstorming, while also bringing a community feeling to the group. I believe this is something that the Drone revolution needs.
Our Mission:To bring Drone technology, education, and services to the Austin area while promoting growth, progress and success in a positive light to users of all experience levels, commercial and consumer alike.
