Do Robertson's have minced lamb now? Last time I was there in January they said they were not getting any until the spring lambs were slaughtered. Made me ill.
Hi Saucers!
I am starting to make arrangements for Christmas dinner and would like to ask what places you recommend to BUY DUCK. Whole duck, nice big but not too fatty. Preferably fresh (can pre-order), not frozen, whole, big :-)
Thanks :-)
Tala M. replied:
http://www.robertson.cz They sometimes have duck, otherwise you can order from them usually :3
Fairly strange request, I purchased good jelly from England when I visited home over Christmas, but I need angel delight, where can I find this in Prague? Or if anyone is kind enough to bring me some back from England. Please help. Many thanks.

Robertson used to have it - http://www.robertson.cz/eshop/product/625?lg=en&_fid=yf29 so maybe Candy store may have it. Also try bigger Tescos, sometimes they surprise you. :)

Think you will have to get it sent over if Robertson doesnt have it.
Does anyone know where to purchase a cooked or raw whole turkey (for Thanksgiving dinner)? Thanks!

I get mine every year from Robertson's - www.robertson.cz

:D Remembering first Thanksgiving here. Bought three turkeys from Robertsons. Didn't know about delivery. To my shock, the salesperson plopped the birds on the counter unbagged, all floppy and unmanageable. Got a box and carried them home from Vinohrady to Nove Mesto. 30+ kilos. In retrospect, it's pretty silly. At the time, it all took me by surprise. That was a long morning. Get your turkey delivered. :) Of course, there was the hilarity of the quote from Culinaria for a cooked turkey with gravy, delivered. The equivalent of $236 at the time. Man am I going to miss this place.
Maie C. replied:
Re robertson: they only do BIG turkeys. If there's less than 8 of you, get a turkey crown or risk throwing it out
Elisabeth F. replied:
Robertson's will also break down the turkey into parts.

Get a big one from robertsons and enjoy making all sorts with the leftovers....curry.....pie....nom nom
Good morning! I am having a hard time finding quality meat for cooking. The last 2 times I have purchased ground beef (Albert and Tesco) they have smelled and/or tasted like chemicals....like bleach. I have also smelled it on some chicken. Is there a butcher/store someone can recommend in Prague 2 ? I'd even walk a bit to Prague 1 if need be. Thanks!
