  Mama's h. asked:

  I will be learning a whole new type of advocating really soon... this time for GRACE and what she needs to be successful. Evaluations came back and it seems my girl has a visual processing disorder. Still not sure of the extent as we need to see a developmental ophthalmologist but this certainly explains some of her difficulties she has had in school this past year. So grateful to finally have some answers so that now we can do what we need to do. Anyone else out there have any experience with this type of learning disability and have some advice for this MAMA and Grace? So proud of my girl. She asked me to post this as she wants to find out as much as she can about it and she knows first hand that this is nothing to be ashamed of and certainly nothing to Freak out about!!! My kiddos are awesome!

  A relative used a straight edge or reading ruler (http://www.crossboweducation.us/visual-stress/reading-rulers.html) and listened to books on tape while she read along. She always used a piece of blank paper to reveal worksheets, quizzes, tests line by line as she completed them too. I will ask her if she's got any other tips.
