I couldn’t comprehend how a professional painter and decorator could do such an appalling job: emulsion drips on the dark oak coloured skirting boards and doors; cutting in where textured wallpaper meets dark oak door frames so uneven it beggared belief; minute paint spots across the entirety of my Karndean flooring (ceiling was painted); white paint on a brand new carpet at point where door frame meets carpet. I could go on. Then we come to the painting of my kitchen cabinets. No sanding down or cleaning done so paint is waxy around some door handles. It scratches off with a fingernail. Brush and roller strokes visible on individual doors. Handles not removed before painting so paint on most handles. Minute paint spots on Amtico flooring. Remedial work was carried out on the hallway, landing and living room but when this involved masking tape being applied onto the face of frames and architrave to create a straight line, I knew I just had to cut my losses and get them out of the house. The owner of the business who lives on the same street as me promised three times to come round to look at the issue with the kitchen. I have been waiting almost 6 months. I have a large collection of photographs to verify the above complaints.
