  A member question from Julie. Let's help a friend out, All! Is anyone stationed at Hickam? We are looking to PCS there this summer, but are trying to scout out services and Dr.'s. we are mainly looking to see of there is any ABA therapy available on the island, through schools, base services or privately. We are also looking for pediatric neurologist and orthopedic surgeons. I've heard that PT, OT and speech are available at Tripler med center. Also, if there are any schools that you could recommend with good special Ed classes. Our son is 6 yrs old, globally Dev delayed, epileptic, non verbal, and has a service dog. He also wears AFO braces.

  We've been here exactly one year as of yesterday. My son is in the Bethel School District (Spanaway/Frederickson/Graham). He has PDD-NOS and needs the seperate classroom setting. I'm very pleased with them. North Thurston (Lacey/Olympia), Yelm, and Franklin Pierce (Puyallup/South Hill) are also supposed to be good. We use ACES (http://acesautism.com) for ABA. They are based in Tacoma. They are excellent. Feel free to message me if I can help in any way.
