  #TENCOMMUNITY, Shannon would like your advice: "My son is now 20 and has had intractable epilepsy since he was 7. We live in San Diego but haven't found a neurologist who will think outside the box and dig in to find the cause so we can better manage and control his seizures. We are thinking of taking him to Barrows in Phoenix. Does anyone have any experience with a neuro that they felt looked for underlying causes and aggressively looked to get seizures under control? Either in phx or California ? My son is currently having at least 3 seizures a week. Both Cps and gran mals. His seizures have progressively gotten more frequent and more severe. Appreciate any advice."

  if you are willing to travel, The Florida Epilepsy Center at Florida hospital Orlando is AMAZING. it is a level 4 epilepsy center that can offer a complete evaluation for epilepsy including intracranial electrodes. they also provide a broad range of surgical procedures for epilepsy. my neurologist Dr Ki Lee and the neurosurgeon Dr James Baumgartner are both award winning physisians and they are both awesome :) http://www.epilepsycenterforkids.com/
