ACF was created with a vision to assist marginalised or forgotten communities, animals and humans, to be rescued and rehabilitated regaining their lives with due respect.
THE BEGINNING OF ACF
Founded in 2013, ACF’s first initiative was the launch of first of its kind animal rescue mission in Pakistan. ACF took over an existing, non-functional shelter with the aim of rescuing individual stray animals, who are injured or abused from all over Karachi, and provide them shelter, medical treatment and food. It also advocates kindness to animals and helps people in understanding animal welfare.
OTHER ACF ACTIVITIES
ACF consists of two sections;
- ACF aims toprovide a voice to the voice-less; hence the first phase of our work dealt with saving stray animals, which is the first of its kind in Pakistan. Our animal rescue mission also includes setting up donkey camps across the city on a weekly basis to provide free medical treatment and food to these beasts of burden that are treated atrociously. The rescued stray and injured animals are provided medical aid and rehabilitated to live out their natural lives happily. We are currently in the process of expanding this venture.
- ACF’s other mission is to set up a centre for therapeutic healing for emotionally, sexually and physically abused women, children and transgenders. We plan to introduce group therapy and support groups in many categories applying psychotherapeutic techniques and humanistic counselling to help heal their trauma and enable them to become emotionally and psychologically balanced and well-adjusted human beings. ... show moreshow more
