About us
I offer yoga classes Vinyasa Krama yoga style. Vinyasa Krama Yoga is related to the Hatha Yoga style offered in many yoga centresVinyasa Krama Yoga is a yoga practice where Asanas/ yoga poses follow each other in a flow of poses leading to balance and harmony in the person. The Vinyasa Krama yoga style is faithful to the ancient Yoga tradition and follows the principles laid down in the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali. Vinyasa Krama is the art and science of combining the elements of Yoga in a sequence that makes an effective and safe practice. Vinyasa means art, variation/flow. Krama means order or method. In Vinyasa Krama the body, breath and mind are integrated to attain a unified state of harmony and focus. Vinyasa Krama yoga uses numerous variations of each posture to fully explore the possibilities of the body and to attain the classical goals of yoga, steadiness and comfort. Vinyasa Yoga can be safely practised by everybody, whether young or old, fit or less fit. In Vinyasa Krama, postures are organised in a logical sequence. Each variation is linked to the next with transitional movements, the whole practice synchronised with deep breathing. Each posture can be gradually accessed through the easier asanas/ yoga poses and then slowly mastered by moving through all the variations. One pose will be followed by a counter pose, the body and the breath will be re balanced and the body will be moving into a beautiful flow. In Vinyasa Krama yoga the body is taken to health and freedom in a gentle process, without force or strain.
My classes have no age restriction but are certainly not geared towards a vigorous work out where the student becomes sweaty and out of breath.
I welcome and encourage students with physical limitations and disabilities to join in.
I strive to offer joyful, well prepared, accepting and welcoming classes for everybody with an interest and a willingness to learn and practice Yoga. Yoga is a gentle exercise form which you do with awareness and... show more
concentration. Yoga should also be a fun way of exercising. I encourage my students to enjoy in class what they are doing, to feel good during the class, to feel the poses, to not allow the ego to interfere with the enjoyment. show more
