  Looking for suggestions on where to stay on Ocracoke Island. Our 10th wedding anniversary falls on Memorial Day weekend and my husband really would like to visit Ocracoke but I'm having a hard time finding rates/availability. Any tips would be great.

  We love OI and try to go at least once a year if not more. If you want a cottage for a week, we use Ocracoke Island Realty, https://www.ocracokeislandrealty.com/. We have also stayed at the Harbour Inn, overlooking Silver Lake. There are several B&B's, The Cove, Pam's Pelican, Thurston House. Be sure to go to Zillies on Back Road for a craft beer or fine wine and for dinner Diajoes or Jasons also The Back Porch. Check out a newsletter called Ocracoke Current for more information.

  Ocracoke, NC has cottages and homes that do 3-night rentals. Blue Heron Realty (www.blueheronvacations.com) , Ocracoke Island Realty (www.ocracokeislandrealty.com) are the main two. On the Outer Banks, most are only by week during the summer. I'm an hour away from The Outer Banks, and can tell you it's beautiful!
