  Looking for recommendations for local affordable tax preparer. I have always done my own but have to do a part year Indiana return with an Illinois employer and it's pretty confusing for me since I've never done these split year and split State returns. I don't care for the places like H&R Block..I think they are crooks in general and charge people way too much to do their taxes, I would prefer someone that is certfied and works independently of those big companies.

  My husband and I get our taxes prepared by Janus Tax & Accounting Services.we have used him for several years and he does a good job at a reasonable price his address is 110 May Ave and phone number is 219-872-9311. My parents use Fitzhugh Tax Service on Johnson Rd. and they are pleased with their service.
