So far, they've not found any infection, so Keir's temperature may just have been the common "neutropenic fever" that occurs with low blood counts. However, he has to stay here on IV antibiotics for another day and just be watched to make sure there are no infections lurking. Infections are a big risk post-chemo before the blood counts start to rise. I have contacted a dentist to try and get this work Keir needs done asap but I am not confident he can do it in the time frame. If anyone knows of a dentist in the Chicago area - preferably suburbs - who would be willing to work Keir in rather urgently - please let me know. He may also need an oral surgeon - but again, it would have to be someone who would be willing to give him an emergency appointment.
