In the fall of 2013, Mobtown Ballroom hosted the first ever Baltimore Square Dance! Over 200 people of all ages flooded the ballroom for an unforgettable evening of old-time square dancing. The Baltimore Square Dance was born!
Every other month (roughly), The Ideal Arts Space will host a square dance featuring live music from local and regional old-time string bands. The dance is co-sponsored by the Baltimore Old Time Jam, a bi-weekly old-time jam at Liam Flynn's Ale House in Station North.
No experience is necessary! There is a dance caller who guides you through all of the dances, step by step. You don't need to bring a partner or feel obligated to wear a cowboy hat - come as yourself!
