  Best place for authentic Spanish food? My boyfriend lived in Galicia for two years, so I thought it would be fun to go somewhere Spanish for his birthday! BCN is unfortunately out because of the pricing, and so far Boca2 is looking the most promising. We live over by Med Center, but willing to drive a bit since it's for a special occasion. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

  There are some odd recommendations here for "authentic Spanish food". Hugo's is Mexican, Latin Bites is South American and Oporto is Portuguese inspired. Ibiza is fusion of Spanish, French & Mediterraean influences. Batanga says that they offer Latin dishes from Peru, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, and Portugal. Of the restaurants recommended, the ones that say they are authentic Spanish restaurants are El Meson, Mi Luna (for tapas), Andalucia, and Costa Brava. Really guys, when someone asks for a recommendation for a specific type of food the recs should be for that specific request. It's not fair to send them to a restaurant that serves something other than what they are looking for.
