I have been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), Inc., for 30+ years. We are an international non-profit medieval history re-creation society.
"Viking Age Woodwerks" is my personal business for the medieval / viking age furniture and other woodworks that I make in my spare time. This is the business I will continue with as I retire from my professional field.
All of my woodworking pieces are custom made to your specifications. Creation times can be weeks, if not months, as I work on these in my spare time / days off. Eventually this will change as time goes by.
Currently I work out of my garage at home. Eventually I plan to build a separate shop dedicated entirely to my woodworking.
I come from a family of woodworkers. My paternal grandfather was a very talented amateur woodworker with his own shop in his back yard. I learned quite a bit from him in my teens. An uncle on my mother's side was a professional, with his own shop/business in Texas, making things like church pews, podiums, etc. I've been mostly self-taught (other than some things Granddaddy taught me 30 years ago).
Can anyone recommend someone local who handcrafts wooden cooler chests (similar to the one below) at a reasonable price?
Tori S. replied:
My father designs and builds wood projects. He hasn't made a cooler chest yet, but I am sure he could design one and build it. He has done some nice, sturdy stuff so far. He is local to Marietta. Primarily he does mideval reinactment, but a comission is a comission. https://m.facebook.com/vikingagewoodwerks/
