He has been practicing holistic dentistry for many years, quit installing amalgams (mercury containing fillings) in the 1980's, routinely collaborates with allopathic and alternative medical practitioners to offer individuals dental materials and treatment plans with health issues, budgets, personal treatment goals in mind - is most conservative about treatment recommendations.   And if you're looking for a holistic dentist, I think it's worth the 35-40 min. drive to Durham (1858 Hillandale Rd) to see Dr. Michael Fleming, even if he is my husband! He routinely collaborates with allopathic AND alternative medical practitioners, and was one of the first in this area to stop using mercury amalgam restorations. www.drmichaelfleming.com.
