About us
Erin Loves Frank Designs got started after an amazing little girl came into our lives. Erin was born in 2013 with Down Syndrome and has endured many medical obstacles since being born. She is now 2 years old and continues to improve everyday :) Erin is my Best Friends Daughter and we live states apart from each other. I wanted to help in some way with Erin and one day we got to talking about weighted blankets and I was like well I can make one of those! After making Erin her blanket it was decided she might need a lap pad for when she out and about. So I started creating one and it turned out like an odd looking bear. Someone said it was like a Frankenstein so we ended up calling it Frank. So with that Erin LOVES Frank Designs was started! I was made aware of how many other kiddos could use a weighted lap pad or blanket to make their life so much easier. So I decided this is my way of helping Erin and others in need. I have also been able to get my two girls involved with the sorting and sewing.
Our weighted blankets are filled with just enough non-toxic plastic pellets to provide deep pressure, touch stimulation. Deep pressure from the weight will cause the body to produce the chemicals that are natural for sleep and relaxation. Humans tend to feel a sense of security when swaddled, so having a weighted blanket wrapped around the body eases the mood, allowing for complete relaxation. We purchase fabric on sale and do patch work designs to keep costs down. At this time we cannot do special requests for fabric.
A weighted blanket is a safe and effective non-drug therapy approach from which you and the rest of the family can enjoy! I snuggle with mine all the time! :)
