  If Chelsea can't help you Monday, I HIGHLY recommend Metropolitan Dental on Clyde in Ottawa (Dr Kaplan and Dr. Bart). Many years ago I had snapped a tooth off, was poor, no benefits, I wasn't even a patient of theirs and called them in tears. They helped me out right away. Lets just say, price wise they also helped me out. They did a very good good deed. I will never forget their kindness and will always try to pay it forward by recommending them. They are professional, wonderful and my 12 year old just had a tooth extracted last week. We love them. http://www.metropolitandental.ca/

For those who have had fillings or know a little bit about dentistry, does $240 for a cavity filling sound right? Also, any recommendations for dentists? I will be getting a second opinion from a dentist a friend suggested, but any more suggestions would be much appreciated. Also, should I cancel my appointment if I can't afford to pay the amount?

  I've lived in a number of places and had many different dentists. I'd have to say, Dr. Kaplan at metropolitan dental is probably the best (and nicest) I've encountered. http://www.metropolitandental.ca
