Dear folks - looking for a dentist, ideally one who would take a Monday morning emergency... Any thoughts about the one in wakefield? Or others, in Ottawa maybe?
With thanks from my aching tooth!

If Chelsea can't help you Monday, I HIGHLY recommend Metropolitan Dental on Clyde in Ottawa (Dr Kaplan and Dr. Bart). Many years ago I had snapped a tooth off, was poor, no benefits, I wasn't even a patient of theirs and called them in tears. They helped me out right away. Lets just say, price wise they also helped me out. They did a very good good deed. I will never forget their kindness and will always try to pay it forward by recommending them. They are professional, wonderful and my 12 year old just had a tooth extracted last week. We love them. http://www.metropolitandental.ca/
Any dentist recommendations? Don't know if I'm being ripped off... Ive been lurking this subreddit for a while but figured I'd make an account because I need some advice on dentists in Ottawa. I recently went for a cleaning + X-rays with a new dentist after 5 years of not going (I know, I'm an idiot.) I was told that I have 9 cavities, but 3 that should be filled asap. They told me it would be $240 per tooth and I nearly cried on the spot. I am a poor uni student with barely enough money to pay for essentials. There's no way I'll have $700+ for my upcoming appointment. I have some insurance with school but beyond that, I'm on my own. For those who have had fillings or know a little bit about dentistry, does $240 for a cavity filling sound right? Also, any recommendations for dentists? I will be getting a second opinion from a dentist a friend suggested, but any more suggestions would be much appreciated. Also, should I cancel my appointment if I can't afford to pay the amount?

I've lived in a number of places and had many different dentists. I'd have to say, Dr. Kaplan at metropolitan dental is probably the best (and nicest) I've encountered. http://www.metropolitandental.ca
