Confession: I am severely 'hairdresser phobic'. I want to fall in love with a hairdresser, show my loyalty by having a haircut more than once in a blue moon, be wowed by their skill to transform my hair from the frazzled mess it usually is, into something sleek and stylish that will have my husband remembering the beauty he met a decade ago....
Alas, since we returned to Canberra last July, and I have had only one hair cut since we got back, and while it wasn't a disaster, there were no sparks. I didn't feel the love. My hair happily refrazzled on the way back to the car, chortling quietly to itself at my inability to find the hairdresser of my dreams...
I desperately need to get my hair cut, so am looking for suggestions for a hairdresser that
a) delights and excels in cutting and styling fine, thin, curly hair with attitude
b) listens to their clients about their hair type, and how they prefer to style their hair, and then subdues said hair with attitude
c) colours skilfully - outwitting the stark white greys that stubbornly refuse to take colour
d) is affordable (i.e. I can't afford a $200-$300 haircut/style/colour
due the offspring syphoning my bank account for ridiculous things like food and clothing)
Help please!!
