Charla F. wrote: I contracted this business to tile a shower for me in my home. The quoted price was $1650 to tile the shower. I would provide the tile and grout and he would supply everything else. He asked for $650 down and the rest upon completion. I gave him a check for $650 which he cashed immediately. He also was going to do the plumbing for the shower changing it from 2 knobs to 1. To begin with ***** text me on March 4th asking if he could start the following day and i said yes. He told me he would be at my house at 8 or 8:30. I had someone available to open my house for him. He did not show up until 9 am. He left that day about 3 pm. The following day he did not show up until 10 and left before i got home at 3. I am not exactly sure what time. The following day ***** did not show up at all. I text him beginning at 8:30 am and called him. He never would answer my text or phone call and i never received communication from him that he wasnt coming. My Dad called him from his phone and he answered on the first try around 1:15 pm. My Dad asks him why he didnt show up for work and he claimed he was sick and had sent me a text, but i never received any communication from him. He never explained why he wasnt answering for me, and then answered for my Dad, a number he did not recognize. He came Friday, the next day and worked a full day. He did the plumbing and hung the concrete board in the shower. The following day, Saturday, i was at work and came home that night to water spewing out of the plumbing and flooding my entire bathroom. It may have been spewing for hours as no one was home. I turned the water off at the main cut off and cleaned all of the water up. I also had to pull out all of the flooring, baseboards, and paneling on the walls to dry. I called ***** that night and he said he was out of town but could come by the following day. I had no water and had to go to family's house to shower and use the restroom. He did come the next day and determined that the PVC fitting he had used had cracked. He offered to fix the shower, but at this point i did not trust him to do the work. I wanted another plumber's opinion on his work. He also dropped something rusty in my toilet, maybe rust particles, and it stained my toilet and would not come off. He denied this, but it was perfectly clean before he worked that day. I told ***** i just wanted my $650 back and also asked if he would pay a plumber. He refused to give me any money back or pay a plumber. He also refused to do anything about my toilet and denied he put anything in it. I called 2 plumbers the following day and both said they would not have put PVC in a shower like that. They said that there is a high likelihood of them cracking and that they do not use plastic in showers. I had to pay a plumber to fix the plumbing and also have to pay a contractor to come and lay the flooring and put in new baseboards and quarter round. Also, they will have to repair the paneling where we had to pull it out to dry. The concrete board that he hung had to be taken down also to dry out. We asked him if he was a licensed plumber and he said that he was, but would not show his license. He acted rude and unwilling to cooperate with me after this happened. He said he would get back with me the following day about giving money back and he never did. He will not answer any calls or texts from me. I will not try and contact him again.Thank you for your feedback. -
