About us
On Better Terms is a band based out of Dallas, TX. OBT fuses driven, groovy melodies and jazzy rhythms with harsh yells and spoken word vocals. With influences such as La Dispute, Troubled Coast, and Touche Amore, they look to bring a unique vibe to the DFW scene.
OBT formed in 2013 when vocalist Andrew Kuehm brought his poems to guitarist Alex Rincon one day. They began writing as much as possible, whilst seeking full time members. The band has been playing shows consistently in the Dallas area and surrounding states since forming, playing with bands including A Lot Like Birds, Adjy, Worthwhile, Sianvar, Strawberry Girls, Hotel Books, and more.
The band released their self-titled EP in 2015, and followed it up with their impressive second record "Superbloom" in May 2017. Superbloom includes thought provoking songs such as "A Moment" and catchy, upbeat songs like "What You Make It." The band emphasizes subjects such as accepting death, struggles with spirituality, enjoying youth, depression, and hope. With OBT adding pick-up bassist Tyler Hoisington, and drummer Josh Sparkowich, the band aims to refine their sound with a full length album in 2018, while consistently touring nationwide.
OBT has toured extensively in the past year, playing DIY shows in various areas in the United States. OBT looks to further display their musical diversity with a live in-studio re-imagining of some of the fans' favorite songs in their soon to be released "Attic Suite Sessions," slated for early November. They will also be looking to branch out as they will be hitting the road once again this Fall 2017 to promote "The Attic Suite Sessions." They will be joined by Third String Records' Oklahoma City outfit Naturalist.
