  Hi looking for some help. My cocker angel died aged 15 recently. Her loss is immense so thought I would wait a while and look at another breed, but of course once Ive had a cocker, i cant seem to connect with any other breed. Her genetics were amazing but the breeder from Clare SA cant be found to register for a new pup. I was wondering if anyone knew this breeder from Clare SA and where they are now (my girl was a millenium pup born a minute after new years chimed in 2000). I would love to have another and even a rescue homing is contemplatable, but not sure who to contact to organise a registered interest with a good reputable breeder. Any help would be appreciated. I understand that this particular breed is prone to a lot of ear and eye problems etc, as owners, do you find these issues to be major problems? As for the constant grooming regime, is this something you can do yourself, without needing so many visits to the groomers? Can anyone point me in the right direction in finding a trustworthy breeder? Thank you in advance :-)

  Hi Marina and many thanks for your enquiry. With the ear and eye problems with cockers some don't get any problems and then others are prone to it. There are remedies cleaning solutions and the use of a snood at meal times always helps. With the grooming brush daily and have a clip every 6-8 weeks. Some owners do full grooming themselves. We have attached some excellent info/guide on grooming. With adoption / breeders we would suggest you contact Cocker Spaniel Society NSW. We have also attached our links to our notes section which provides informative information and also have attached links of our albums Cockers needing a home which will make it easier for you to find. 1 is of ECSA dogs which are ready for new furever homes and the other is of dogs with other orgs / pounds.   Hi Han and many thanks for your message - We are mainly a rescue org - you will find some lovely dogs in our albums Cockerss needing a home. The Cocker spaniel is a very special dog - see our notes section for some great information on what to look for in breeders and also what to expect from your cocker spaniel. You could contact Cocker Spaniel Society of NSW - they should be able to advise on breeders.
