About us
Welcome to The Hungry Bear Bake Shoppe. We are a second generation family owned and operated restaurant and bakery.
Linda DaBell, who every one knows as "The Hungry Bear Lady," took over ownership and operations of The Hungry Bear in Midvale, Utah almost 20 years ago. She took a failing business and turned it into a wonderful place to come and eat.
Over the years she incorporated secret family recipes into the menu. Everything from home made soups, fresh salads, tasty sandwiches, award winning handcrafted cookies and bakery goods all made fresh every day.
As most everyone knows Linda decided to retire. This was a sad day for so many people family and friends alike. We looked at doing something a little different. Just doing a bakery so that we could provide our yummy treats to everyone of our loyal customers.
Well fast forward a couple months....We have decided to bring it all back! The torch has been passed down to Linda's children. Many of whom, have worked for her over the years. Even though the ownership has changed, Linda is coming with us as a trainer and consultant! She has so many friends that she misses, she couldn't stay away!!
We have partnered with Tai Pan Trading Company in Sandy. We are looking forward to bring our bakery and food items back to all our loyal customers and to all the new people who will discover their new favorite place to eat!
We are so grateful for everyting Linda has done over the years. We are excited and look forward to seeing everyone again!!
