Business Proposal#1:
Barber Shop/Salon:
There are a number of transmen and women who have their barber/beauty licenses, and I think we'd benefit from starting franchises in a number of different cities that are populated by transpeople. I've spoken with quite a few FTMs who know how to cut hair and MTFs who know how to style.
The shops would have the traditional booths, but there's would also be a cafe, or perhaps as an additional business ideas, have a transperson with a food truck just outside the shops, available for breakfast an lunch; the shop would have a small sidewalk patio where people could eat to drink tea/coffee.
In addition to a base salary the technicians would keep their tips. And, of course, they would be free to freelance on the side (perhaps get referrals from their regulars). In this way they could possibly earn enough to start businesses of their own. Either way, it would be a way to get people working again.
All that's needed is the capital. Anyone have VC (venture capitalists) connections willing to invest in the idea?
